Sean's colleague gave us a baby cot that is beech wood. We've always prefer white for our furniture so hubby decided to paint the wooden cot white. We did not start painting it till now (though we bought the paint some months back) as Mum said that we can't do painting until bb is born. So that is why Sean only started painting only recently. He has spent a few nights after work to paint the cot. I would say that the final work looks real good! Very country-style cot that looks brand new... Love it!
But murphy's law struck.. when the painting was completed, we were shocked to realise that the mattress (also given by the same colleague) could not fit into the cot! So we went BIG W to get a new mattress.. but it was still slightly over-sized (hard to adjust the movable side). Today is Australia Day (public holiday). So Sean went Baby Bunting to get the right size mattress.. finally!

(Daddy painting in the garage)

(Sleeping just beside us, really convenient for night feeds. The first day she slept in her new cot, she only woke up for feeds and slept until 2pm! Guess she really likes her new bed as she is her smiling while sleeping in this picture ha!)
(The bassinette that has retired gracefully)
(Bottom of cot - Sean has written his 'golden words' to Shannyn. Aye, not enough paint so he has left the bottom slates in its original state!)

Looks very cozy. Big enough to last the baby for a few years? HAHA! - Joe Bro
Nice cot! I have always liked white furniture too. White always looked cleaner, grandier, bigger and more spacious and its a classic color! Your gor think otherwise, hehe, so anything i want paint white in our house, better ask him first. He say white dirties easily, hmm, agree, thats why we have birch furniture now, a nice alternative to white too! The cot sure looks very cosy and inviting! Sweet dreams Shannyn! ~elin

Must tell her next time. To let her know how much her dad loves her oh.Great nice colour of white. But, must retouch as it might turn to beige. Adorable Shannyn in her cot..kekeke... jel
