HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY SHANNYN!

Happy Birthday Shannyn!! Today (Sunday, 14 Dec 2008) is Shannyn's One Year Old Birthday!

Shannyn loves the red egg and even sucked on it. The red dye made her lips red! It's as if she had stolen my lipstick and used it on her lips!!

Birthday cake, an ice cream cake from Wendy's. Honeycomb flavour with chocolate flakes.. plus I looove the 100s and 1000s at the side and on top of the little 'flowers'!!

Yesterday (Saturday) we organised a Surprise Party for her at our house. Invited our friends over for a small party! We have been preparing for the party an entire week... ordering of cake (decided to get a Wendy's ice-cream cake rather than the usual cake), buying of party food/materials, cleaning the house (yes, my house is in a mess before that), mowing the lawn and gardening. The night before, we were busy preparing the food and marinating the meat, decorating the living area and making 'red eggs' till late at night. I was blowing the balloons at 1am and feeling so sleepy yet was having fun as its been ages since I did that! Eventually, I slept at 1.30am while Sean slept half an hour later. The next day, we couldn't get out of bed and even overslept.

Believe it or not, this is the first event which I organised that had 100% turnout rate! Most events in general have turnout rate of 30% only! Thanks to all our dear friends who made Shannyn's First Birthday so special! We wanted to have a BBQ but due to the rainy weather (it rained for 2 days non-stop!!), we had to oven the meat, deep-fry the springrolls and pan-fry the sausages!! Will post more pictures in my next post.

We spent half a day opening the presents from our friends and there were so many gifts including X'mas presents!!

Today, Shannyn is no more a baby.. she is now considered a Toddler!! Hip Hip Hooray!!

P.S.: Also, a very special thanks to our families in Singapore who greeted Shannyn Happy Birthday! Including Shannyn's uncles, aunties, grandpas, grandmas and also Shannyn's cousin, Winnie! MUA (from Shannyn)!
